Council to consider economic development at Monday meeting

The Sedalia City Council will consider on Monday a proposed agreement to provide $104,000 to Economic Development Corp. of Sedalia Pettis County for industrial, economic and community development.

The agreement is among the agenda items for the council’s meeting. Committee meetings will begin at 6:40 p.m. at the mayor’s conference room in the City Hall, and the regular meeting will be at 7 in the council chambers. The sessions are open to the public.

The agreement between the city and the economic development group would be effective Jan. 1, which begins the fiscal year for the economic group, according to a memo from City Administrator Keith Riesberg.

The agreement calls for the board of directors of the development corporation to develop and implement a marketing plan.

If there are no objections, the council would vote on the annexation Dec. 15.

Also on the agenda is an ordinance authorizing Bothwell Regional Health Center to buy property at 665 E. 13th St. for $57,500 from Helen Cramer. The property is adjacent to the hospital.
