Fundraiser to benefit student

Family and friends of a Sacred Heart sophomore plan to have a dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Community Center at Buckner Apartments to raise money for an educational trip.
T’Keyea Thornton, 16, was accepted to the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine.
The fundraising dinner will be to buy T’Keyea a plane ticket to get to the forum, according to her mother, Alana Thornton.
A chicken dinner will cost $5.75 and a fish dinner will cost $6.75.
T’Keyea wants to be a physician, her mother said.
The event is open to the public.
