Warrensburg man dies in accident

Vehicle operator survives with minor injuries

A Warrensburg man died in a single-vehicle accident in Johnson County on Thursday, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.


Joshua T. Gregg, 20, was thrown from the passenger seat of the vehicle about 12:15 a.m. Gregg was taken by Life Flight air ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.


The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Gregg was pronounced dead Thursday morning.


Spencer L. Williams, 25, of Warrensburg, was driving west on County Road Y near Southeast 171st Road when he lost control of the vehicle and drove of the right side of the roadway. The vehicle overturned and struck a fence and a pole, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.


Williams, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries and refused treatment, according to Highway Patrol reports.


Gregg was not wearing a seat belt, reports stated.


Charges are pending in an ongoing investigation, according to Highway Patrol reports.
