2 Sedalia residents seriously injured in US 50 crash Saturday night

Two Sedalia residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident Saturday night in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at 7:55 p.m. on westbound U.S. Highway 50 at Daviess Road when a vehicle driven by Jimmie Curry, 31, traveled off the left side of the road and overturned.

Troopers report the vehicle entered the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 before coming to a rest on the south side of the roadway.

Curry was airlifted to St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit with serious injuries. Skylar Elliott, 14, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to University Hospital in Columbia, also with serious injuries.

Both occupants were not wearing seat belts, the Highway Patrol reported.
