During a special part of the recognition ceremony Gill asked if anyone would like to remember someone. Vera Harrison, a member of the VFW Auxiliary, lights a piece of paper with the candle and drops it into the helmet in remembrance of her father Willard V. Grant, a Korean War veteran, who served in the Army in 1951-53.
