Although spring is approximately three weeks away, winter hasn’t lost its grip on the Sedalia area as testament to these icicles hanging from Veterans Memorial Shelter number five at Liberty Park on Wednesday.

Two lone Canada geese swim in the frigid waters of Clover Dell Lake on Wednesday. The water has lost most of its ice, but patches shining in the sun remain around the trunks of dead trees in the center of the lake. Temperatures will continue to remain cold for several days with Sunday’s predicted low reaching 3 degrees.
