Georgetown United Methodist Church, in Georgetown, is quiet Sunday morning. March came in like a lion with sleet and ice, being responsible for many area cancellations over the weekend. Advisories by the Missouri Department of Transportation were issued to stay off the roadways.

Although evidence of people out and about was scarce on Sunday, livestock such as this ice covered Angus, on state Route U, seemed unfazed by the sleet.

The 9:30 a.m. Union Pacific freight train rolling by the intersection Grand Avenue and Main Street, traveling west, had no trouble navigating the rails in the ice and sleet Sunday morning.

Beauty, although short-lived, can be found in the March storm with this scenic pond and bridge along state Route U at McVey Road. Frigid, below zero wind chills are expected Monday and through the evening hours.
