Crews with B&P Excavating work to tear down two buildings at the intersection of South Osage Avenue and West Second Street Monday. According to Chief Building Official Andy Burt, the building at 118 W. Second St. is city-owned while the building next door at 120 W. Second St. is privately owned. Both were in serious disrepair with structural issues including bowing walls and a collapsed roof. Burt said the building at 120 W. Second St. has been in the city’s dangerous building process for about a year and the demolition will cost the city approximately $50,000.
