Horace Mann Elementary School students, from left, Angel Bardin, Emily McLaughlin, Sammy McLaughlin and Katrina Monroe, work on their milk paint projects Wednesday during Literacy Night using colored chalk they made themselves earlier in the year. The students' canvases are soaked in a solution containing skim milk which binds the dampened chalk to the surface. The milk-paint art work will go on display along with a similar project from Heber Hunt Elementary School the first Saturday in March at the Liberty Center. The Daum Museum of Contemporary Art has partnered with both schools to incorporate the Visual Thinking Strategies program into the Title 1 curriculum.
