Event emcee Jim Shoemaker surprises the crowd with his socks and foot work after he cuts in on Paul Beykirch who was dancing with Jim's wife, Lisa, during the dance competition. After a sorrowful tongue-in-cheek tale of woe to Beykirch and the audience about how he never got a chance to dance with his wife in the past events, and this being the last one, he needed a favor of a last dance.
