Dental Health for Pets

SYDNEY BRINK/DEMOCRAT Cindy Meyers, a registered veterinary technician, shows the audience at Thompson Hills Animal Clinic, 1201 Thompson Blvd., the teeth of an older dog, Casey, a chocolate lab owned by fellow veterinary technician, Rhonda Haywood, right. February is National Pet Dental Health Awareness Month and the staff at animal clinic decided to put the bite on troublesome pet dental hygiene issues by educating the public. Good dental hygiene in a pet will extend the life of the pet, Meyers said. She also explained how to brush the teeth of one's pet and recognize tartar buildup and unhealthy gums.
