Man injured in Saline County wreck
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A Stark City man was injured Monday when he lost control of his tractor-trailer on wet pavement and slid off the road, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Thomas H. Kassner, 43, was taken by ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall after the crash at 5:10 a.m. Kassner was treated and transferred to another facility with non-life threatening injuries, a hospital spokesman said.
The accident happened as Kassner was northbound on U.S. Highway 65 south of County Road 427. Troopers reported that Kassner lost control of his vehicle on the wet pavement and slid off the road, striking a utility pole and telephone utility box.
The truck’s power unit caught on fire, spreading to the towed unit and cargo which had overturned on the roadway, reports stated.
Kassner, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries in the wreck, the Highway Patrol reported.
