Dear Editor:

Heard Memorial Club House had an Open House on Saturday, June 7 during the Scott Joplin Festival.

In preparation for the long awaited open house at the Heard Memorial Club House, four local men volunteered to roll up their sleeves, bring their brooms, shovels and masks to make the carriage house presentable for public viewing.

Thanks to the VFW’s Honor Guard, 2591, for their sweat equity; Larry Parker, Larry Stevenson, Larry Brooks and David Isk. Special thanks to the Ditzfield family for their donation of a dumpster.

This is a great example of a community working together to preserve our history.
