Sacred Heart runs past Orioles

Every player on the Sacred Heart roster scored as the Gremlins beat Concordia 92-40 on Tuesday at Concordia.

“We played good defense tonight everybody shared the ball,” said Sacred Heart coach Steve Goodwin.

Jimmy Villalobos led the way with 26 points. Stefan Cox added 20.

Cass Heimsoth scored 15 for the Orioles. Jordan Schuster added 11.

Sacred Heart (7-0) will face Santa Fe at 6 p.m. Saturday at the W-K Shootout.

Concordia (2-5) will host Knob Noster on Friday.

Green Ridge 64, Otterville 31

Green Ridge cruised to a 64-31 win Tuesday at Otterville.

The Tigers led 24-5 after one quarter and 43-19 at the half.

Axton Harding scored 20 to lead Green Ridge. Justin McCarthy added 12 and Hayden Doane had 11.

Franklin Oswald, Justin Halgren and Jake Neal each had eight points for Otterville.

Green Ridge (4-2) will face Lakeland at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the W-K Shootout.

Otterville (1-5) will host Bunceton at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Knob Noster 39, Richmond 27

Knob Noster beat Richmond 39-27 on Tuesday, outscoring the Spartans 14-9 in the second quarter to pull out to a six-point halftime lead and extending the advantage with a 13-4 run in the third.

“The Spartans were very stingy early on not allowing us to get post entry passes verses their zone,” said Knob NOster coach Adam Easterwood. “In the second quarter we were able to knock down some perimeter shots and forced them to expand. We did an excellent job of being selective and taking high percentage shots.”

Brett Marsh led the Panthers with 16 points and seven rebounds. Jon McKinzie added eight points and three assists.

Knob Noster (6-0) will visit Concordia on Friday.

Warsaw 59, Stover 32

A 30-point night from Randall Sherman helped Warsaw beat Stover 59-32 on Tuesday in Stover.

Warsaw led 19-12 after one quarter and 31-22 at the half before outscoring the Bulldogs 12-5 in the third and 16-5 in the fourth.

Nine Warsaw players scored in the game including Joey Cooner who had nine.

Brock Nolting led Stover with 12.

Warsaw (4-2) will visit Lincoln at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Stover will host Windsor at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Girls Basketball

La Monte 44, Leeton 33

La Monte beat Leeton 44-33 on Tuesday in Leeton.

Cathy Butts led the Lady Vikings with 23 points.

“I was very please with the way the girls came out and played,” said La Monte coach Manuel Lujan.

La Monte will face Northwest at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the W-K Shootout

Concordia 35, Sacred Heart 33

Cailey Cooper hit a putback as time expired to lift Concordia past Sacred Heart 35-33 on Tuesday in Concordia. Sacred Heart had tied the game with 26 seconds to go on a Gabbi Ebers 3-pointer.

The Gremlins led 11-8 after one quarter but trailed 19-18 at halftime.

Claudia Cox led the Gremlins with 12 and 10 rebounds. Ebers had nine.

Cooper had 14 to lead the Lady Orioles.

The Gremlins will face Santa Fe at the W-K Shootout on Saturday.

Concordia will face Lincoln at the W-K Shootout Dec. 27.

Cole Camp 67, Sherwood 38

Kaleena Logan’s 22 points paced Cole Camp in a 67-38 win over Sherwood on Tuesday.

Kaylee Kestner added 13 for the Bluebirds.

Cole Camp led 20-8 after one quarter and outscored Sherwood 14-5 in the third.

The Bluebirds will face Warsaw at 6 p.m. Thursday.

St. Paul 53, Lincoln 21

St. Paul Lutheran scored 16 points in each of the first three quarters in a 53-21 win over Lincoln on Tuesday.

Paige Bybee led the Cardinals with 11 points. Seana Hansen scored six.

St. Paul (2-0) will face Odessa on Thursday.

Lincoln (0-6) will visit Weaubleau on Thursday.

Holden 63, Warsaw 43

Holden beat Warsaw 63-43 on Tuesday after outscoring the Lady Wildcats 21-7 in the first quarter and 18-14 in the second.

Kylie McRoberts led Warsaw with 13 points. Mackenzie Weaver added 11.

Warsaw (1-5) will host Cole Camp on Thursday.
