The State Fair mens basketball team beat Moberly 77-70 on Wednesday at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center.

The Roadrunners are now 2-0 in Region 16 play.

State Fair led at the half 31-23.

The State Fair womens basketball team fell in overtime to Moberly 79-72.

The Lady Roadrunners trailed 40-28 at the half before storming back, cutting the lead to one with 11 minutes left and tying the game at 72-72 at the end of regulation.

The Roadrunners and Lady Roadrunners will be back in action on Saturday. The Lady Roadrunners will host Jefferson College at 5:30 p.m. and the men will host ABCD Prep at 7:30 p.m. at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center.

Central Missouri

The Central Missouri mens basketball team beat Missouri Western 81-63.

Dillon Deck had 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Mules. Charles Hammork also scored 20 points.

The Griffons got to within five in the second half before back-to-back 3-pointers by Ryan Magdziarz.

The Central Missouri Jennies beat Missouri Western 71-65 on Wednesday at the Multipurpose Building.

Revonnia Howard scored a carer-high 23 points with eight coming in the first four minutes of the game.

Keuna Flax added 16 points, 13 of them in the second half including six during a 10-3 Jennies run.

The win was UCM’s 21st in a row at home.

The Mules and Jennies will visit Northwest Missouri with the womens game tipping off at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
