The State Fair Community College men’s basketball team is two wins away from snaring the Region 16 regular-season championship.
The Roadrunners (19-6) improved to 6-0 in the five-team region with a 91-76 win over the Missouri State-West Plains Grizzlies on Tuesday night in West Plains.
SFCC will visit Moberly Area (21-5, 5-1) on Saturday night before finishing up at home against Mineral Area (14-12, 2-5) on Feb. 22. The Roadrunners have a nonregional game against North Central Missouri on Feb. 19.
Kevin Punter paced the Roadrunners with a game-high 30 points, Kedar Edwards had 27, Joseph Thomasson 13 and Dondre Alexander 11.
Edwards had a team-high eight rebounds, Thomasson paced SFCC with seven assists, and Alexander had a team-best four steals.
Arroyo Edwards paced the Grizzlies (16-11, 2-4) with 16 points.
SFCC led 47-44 at halftime.
