The Central Missouri baseball team rallied to tie the game in the ninth, but fell in extra innings 4-3 to Northeastern State in their MIAA series finale on Saturday.


Trailing 3-2 with two outs in the top of the ninth, the Mules tied the game when Brad Wilson hit a solo home run to left. UCM could not score in the 10th or 11th and Cayle Shambaugh hit a walk-off home run to lead off the bottom of the 11th.


The Mules jumped on top 1-0 in the second inning whenJackson Scnurbusch drove in Barrett Noirfalise with a single. The RiverHawks (5-8, 2-6 MIAA) tied the game in the third on Braden Brown’s RBI groundout.


NSU went in front 3-1 in the seventh on a pair of infield singles before Matt Molbury hit an RBI single in the eighth.


AJ Walkenhorst (0-1) took the loss for UCM, allowing one run on two hits in four innings of relief. Kyle Gehrs started the game, working six innings and allowing three runs, two of them unearned, on four hits.


Bryan McClellan got the win for the RiverHawks after tossing 2.1 innings of perfect relief with four strikeouts.


The Mules (8-7, 5-3 MIAA) host Pittsburg State in a four-game series beginning at 3 p.m Friday.
