Smithton’s Issac Calvert won a pair of events at the Fayette Relays on Friday in Fayette.

Calvert won the 1600-meter run with a time of 4 minutes, 58 seconds. He also won the 3200 in 10:35.97.

Jacob Ollison took sixth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 20.55 seconds.

Smithton will run in the Husker Relays on Tuesday in Higginsville.


West Central tournament

The Smith-Cotton Tigers will compete in the Black Pool in the 15-team West Central Missouri Baseball Tournament that starts Wednesday at Liberty Park Stadium and Warrensburg’s high school field. Games will also be played at Crane Stadium on the Central Missouri campus in Warrensburg.

All four of the Tigers’ games will be at Liberty Park. They open against Raymore-Peculiar at 5 p.m. Wednesday, will face the White Pool’s Harrisonville at 5 p.m. Thursday and will play two on Friday against Lafayette at 5 p.m. and Marshall at 7:30 p.m.

Boonville and Fox will join Harrisonville in the White Pool. Blue Springs South, Ozark, Rock Bridge and Rockwood Summit make up the Gold Pool. The Red Pool comprises Holden, Oak Grove, Pleasant Hill and Warrensburg.

Each pool will crown a champion. No overall championship will be determined.
