The Smith-Cotton golf team took second and a four-team West Central Conference meet Wednesday at Hidden Pines, shooting a 195. Warrensburg shot a 166 to win. O’Hara shot a 220 and Center shot a 226.


Wyatt Foster led Smith-Cotton with a 45. Alex Lorenz shot a 46, Taylor Mankin shot a 47 and Jacob Carrol shot a 52.


The Smith-Cotton junior varsity team shot a 195 to finish one stroke behind the Warrensburg JV. Jackson Kempton led the S-C junior varsity with a 45. Ryan Lefevers shot a 47. Tyler Spear carded a 51, Tyler Stefer shot a 52 and Kendall Weymuth carded a 54.


SOFTBALL


Cole Camp 11, Concordia 1


Three runs in each of the first two innings helped Cole Camp win a non-conference softball game 11-1 at Concordia on Wednesday.


The Bluebirds then added a run in the fourth, another in the fifth and three more in the sixth.


Mackenze Gudde pitched six innings and held the Lady Orioles to three hits. She struck out seven.


Rachel Treece took the loss for Concordia, allowing 12 hits in six innings and striking out one.


Shelby Sprinkle, Gudde, Darian Burton and Elizabeth Craig all drove in two runs for Cole Camp. Gudde was 2 for 3 with a double.


Annisa Foster went 1 for 3 with a double for Concordia. She drove in the Lady Orioles only run.


Late Tuesday


GIRLS SOCCER


Sacred Heart 1, Barstow 1


The Gremlins and Barstow played to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday at Clover Dell Park.


Morgan Bogue scored for Sacred Heart converting a Hannah Rodewald cross with a header. Barstow equalized late in the first half.


Sacred Heart will visit Warrensburg today.


SOFTBALL


Northwest 13, Smithton 2


A one-out rally in the fifth inning lifted Northwest to a 13-2 win over Smithton in a Kaysinger Conference softball game on Tuesday in Hughesville.


“Kendall Walk laid down great bunts and got my runners around and scored,” said Northwest coach Chelsea Gieselman. “The girls came to play and hit the ball and did a great job at fielding.”


Northwest will open district play against Sacred Heart.


Smithton will close the regulat season at La Monte today.


Cole Camp 12, Sacred Heart 1


Shelby Sprinkle went 3 for 3 at the plate and drove in a pair of runs to help Cole Camp beat Sacred Heart 12-1 on Tuesday in Cole Camp.


Kimmi Finkiewicz, Darian Burton and Elizabeth Craig all came through with two hits each for the Bluebirds. Craig and Mackenze Gudde each drove in two runs.


Gudde got the win in the circle, pitching four innings and allowing two hits while striking out seven.


Erin Holt took the loss for the Gremlins, whose lone run came in the top of the first from lead-off hitter Julie Chancellor.


TRACK AND FIELD


Cameron Relays


The Knob Noster boys track and field team took seventh at the Cameron Relays on Tuesday with the girls team taking 10th.


Hayden Anderson won the 1600 with a time of 4:48.42. He also took third in the high jump, clearing 5-10.


Andre Williams won the 400 with a time of 50.27. He was second in the 200 with a time of 23.22 and third in the long jump with a leap of 19-7.5.


The boys 4x400 relay team of Aaron Adams, Anderson, Lucas DeBerry and Williams took second with a time of 3:36.99. DeBerry was fourth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 44.27.


In the girls meet, Bri Gibbs won the pole vault.


Brianna Hunter was eighth in shot put with a throw of 30-9.25. Alyssa Thomas was fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:36.58. The Lady Panthers’ 4x800 relay team of Ariel Thomas, Alyssa Thomas, Karissa Rhoderman and Jessica Yeates took third with a time of 10:28.33.
