Lincoln shot a 350 to win the Stover Golf Invitational on Thursday at the par-71 Rolling Hills Country Club.
Green Ridge carded a 360 for second place. Windsor was third with a 380, edging Stover by a stroke. Cole Camp shot a 396 to take fifth and St. Paul Lutheran was seventh with a 427.
Stover’s Brock Nolting was the medalist with a 79. Green Ridge’s Peyton Needy took second with an 80, one stroke ahead of Justin Evans of Crest Ridge.
Lincoln’s Boone Kroenke shot an 82 to take fourth and teammate Blaine Winkler shot an 86.
Jacob Clark led Smithton with a 95. Caleb Self led Cole Camp with an 88 and John Schuler led Windsor with a 90.
Next week will mark the debut of the MSHSAA spring softball tournament and the brackets are set for the districts.
In District 13 at Windsor, the host Lady Greyhounds will face Smithton in the first round at 4 p.m. Monday. The winner of that game advances to face No. 1 seed Green Ridge in the district semifinal at 7 p.m. Monday. In the other semifinal, Cole Camp will face Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. Monday. The district championship game will be at 6 p.m.Wednesday.
In District 14 at La Monte, Sacred Heart will face Northwest at 5 p.m. Monday in the first round. The winner will move on to the semifinal to face No. 1 seed Sweet Springs at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. In the other semifinal, Crest Ridge will face La Monte at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The district championship game will be 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The champions of the 16 districts state-wide will play for a spot in Missouri’s first spring softball championship game which will be played May 17 in Poplar Bluff.
Smith-Cotton 9, O’Hara 0
The Smith-Cotton boys tennis team swept O’Hara in a West Central Conference match on Wednesday.
In singles play, Aaron Walters and Blake Potts both won their matches 8-0. They also teamed up to win the No. 2 doubles match 8-1.
Andrew Tilley beat Aiden Eckart in the No. 1 singles match 8-3. At No. 2 singles, Matt Strouse beat Andy Salva 8-3. Jacob Hedrick won the No. 5 singles match 8-1 over Nick Darlin.
Tilley and Strouse won the No. 1 doubles match 8-4.
