No Knob Noster doubles team lost a game as the Panthers tennis team beat Carrollton 9-0 on Wednesday.


At No. 1 doubles, Kyle Zimmerschied and Cole Lankford beat Bryan Phillips and Ethan Swyres 8-0. Jared Yates and John Abernathy won the No. 2 doubles match 8-0 over Jackson Barry and Glendon Jenkins. At No. 3 doubles, Seth Templeton and Garnett Williams beat Noland Glenn and Lucas Brownley 8-0.


The Panthers also got a pair of 8-0 wins in singles play from Jacob Youngblood at No. 6 and Lankford at No. 2.


Zimmerschied won the No. 1 singles match 8-3 over Phillips. Yates won the No. 3 singles match 8-4, Abernathy won 8-2 at No. 4 singles and Templeton won the No. 5 singles match 8-1.


The Panthers won the junior varsity match 6-0.


Knob Noster (11-1, 6-1 MRVC-East) will host Wentworth today.

TRACK AND FIELD


SBU Classic


The Smith-Cotton boys track and field team took fifth in the large-school division of the SBU High School Classic on Tuesday in Bolivar.


Chance Johnson won the high jump, clearing 6-2. Keoni Hale took sixth with a jump of 5-8.


Johnson also jumped 19-6 in the long jump to take sixth with Albert Nash 11th in that event.


Nash was also second in the 300 hurdles with a time of42.48.


Jack Marsh was ninth in the shot put with a throw of 40-8.


Smith-Cotton took fifth in the 4x800 relay with a time of 8:50.0. The Tigers were also sixth in the 4x100.


Luke Guier won the 400 with a time of 50.51 and was third in the 200 with a time of 23.48.


Taylor Gilliam was seventh in the 800 with a time of 2:06.83.


The Lady Tigers took 15th in the large-school division as Mariona Ward took fourth in the long jump with a leap of 16-0. She also took third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 51.38.


Makeba Nash took fourth in the girls 100 with a time of 13.36 seconds.


The Lady Tigers were fourth in the 4x100 relay.


The Warsaw boys were 14th in the small school division. The Lady Wildcats were 13th.


Austin Larsen was fifth in the 1600 with a time of 4:56 and eighth in the 3200.


Johnathon Plybon took ninth in triple jump. Noah Long was 17th in the 2000 steeplechase with a school record 9:17.84.


Tim Jackson was 10th in the 800 and 1600. Micheal Kephart was 12th in the 3200.


The 4x800 relay team of Larsen, Kephart, Jackson and Plybon took eighth.


In the girls meet, Rickie Branson was seventh in the long jump, clearing 12-7.


Jessica Kuykendall was seventh in the 3200 in a time of 13:44.63 and eighth in the 1600.


Keyona Davis was 12th in the 200. Kaci Cooner was 13th in discus.


Warsaw took sixth in the 4x800 relay and eighth in the 4x200 relay.


BASEBALL


Pilot Grove 20, Prairie Home 2


Pilot Grove beat Prairie Home 20-2 in five innings in CCAA baseball on Tuesday.


The Tigers scored three in the first, four more in the third, seven in the fourth and six in the fifth.


Regan Meisenheimer pitched four innings and struck out 11, giving up two runs on five hits.


Jake Leverton drove in five runs in the game, going 3 for 4 at the plate with a double. Grant Felton drove in three runs, going 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and a triple. Colton Glenn was 1 for 4 with a double and two RBI. Keaton Vollrath was 1 for 4 with two RBI. Trenton Young was 2 for 3. Meisenheimer was 2 for 4.
