The Smith-Cotton golf team took second at the West Central Conference Tournament Thursday at the par-71 Hodge Park Golf Course in Kansas City.


S-C shot a 339. Warrensburg won the conference championship with a 319.


Alex Lorenz led Smith-Cotton with a 79. Jacob Carroll shot an 82. Taylor Mankin carded an 85. Wyatt Foster and Jackson Kempton each shot a 93 and Ryan Lefevers carded a 97.


Lorenz, Carroll and Mankin were all named to the All-Conference team.


Sacred Heart


The Sacred Heart golfers took third in a meet at Marshall on Thursday. Mexico shot a 161 to win. Marshall shot a 176. Sacred Heart carded a 199.


Will Prenger led the Gremlins with a 46. Chris Mergen shot a 48, Jordan Shipley shot a 47 and Logan Sunnarborg shot a 50.


Lincoln 169, Green Ridge 178, Windsor 182, Cole Camp 211


The Lincoln golf team shot a 169 to win at Clinton on Thursday.


Green Ridge shot a 178. Windsor shot a 182 and Cole Camp shot a 211.


Lincoln’s Boone Kroenke shot a 37 to earn medalist honors. Green Ridge’s Peyton Needy shot a 41 to tie with Lincoln’s Blaine Winkler.


BASEBALL


Northwest 11, Cole Camp 0


Northwest beat Cole Camp 11-0 in the consolation final of the Kaysinger Conference Tournament Thursday at Centennial Park.


Truman Leicher pitched five innings, allowing two hits and striking out eight. He also helped his own cause with a grand slam.


Cortlen Austin and Mathew Locke went 2 for 3, each driving in two runs.


Green Ridge 6, Smithton 5, 8 innings


Zac Callahan hit a two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game and Caleb Brown hit a double in the eighth to win it as Green Ridge claimed third place in the Kaysinger Conference Tournament with a 6-5 win over Smithton Thursday at Liberty Park.


Smithton jumped ahead with two runs in the fourth, a run in the sixth and two more in the top of the seventh before Green Ridge rallied.


Justin McCarthy got the win, pitching five innings and allowing two runs. He struck out four. Taylor Hoos pitched two innings and allowed a run, striking out one. Callahan gave up a pair of unearned runs in one inning on the mound.


Smith-Cotton 7, Warrensburg 3


Smith-Cotton beat Warrensburg 7-3 in a West Central Conference baseball game Thursday at Warrensburg.


Dom Zerilli went 2 for 3 with a double. He also drove in a pair of runs in the seventh with a single.


Dalton Zaremba pitched 5 2-3 innings and allowed four walks and 10 hits.


Austin Bullerd came on in relief and got the win, striking out two and allowing no runs.


TENNIS


Knob Noster 9, Wentworth 0


Knob Noster beat Wentworth 9-0 on senior day in Knob Noster.


Panther senior John Abernathy went out in style with an 8-0 win over John Jefferson Flowers at No. 4 singles. Abernathy also teamed up with Jared Yates to win the No. 2 doubles match 8-2.


The Panthers also got 8-0 singles wins from Cole Lankford and Yates as well as 8-1 wins from Kyle Zimmerschied and Seth Templeton.


Knob Noster got 8-0 wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 doubles.

TRACK AND FIELD


Knob Noster


The Knob Noster boys and girls track and field teams both finished fourth in an 18-team event Wednesday at Knob Noster.


Alyssa Thomas won the girls 800 with a time of 2:36.3. She also took eighth in the high jump, clearing 4-6.


Bri Gibbs was second in the 200 with a time of 27.6 seconds. She took third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.6 and second in the pole vault with a jump of 9-6.


Brianna Hunter was third in shot put with a throw of 35-10 and eighth in discus with a throw of 86-9.


Karissa Rhoderman was seventh in the 100 hurdles in 18.1.


Knob Noster took second in the 4x800 relay, the team of Ariel Thomas, Rhoderman, Jessica Yeates and Alyssa Thomas finishing in 11:04.2. The 4x400 relay team of ALyssa Thomas, Rhoderman, Yeates and Gibbs took fifth in 4:41.5.


In the boys meet, Andre Williams, Aaron Adams, Ty Hults and Lucas DeBerry won the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:38.2.


Williams also took second in the 200 with a time of 23.2, third in the 400 with a time of 52.7 and third in the long jump with a leap of 20-0.5.


Hayden Anderson won the high jump, clearing 5-8.


DeBerrty was second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 44 seconds. He also took eighth in the 110 hurdles in 17.7.


Eric Scobey took seventh in the 3200 in a time of 12:04.1. Hults was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:16.0.


The 4x100 team of Michael Williams, Adams, Donald Couttie and Chris Cruz took eighth in 50.0. Michael Williams, Adams, Couttie and DeBerry were fifth in the 4x200 relay in 1:41.9. Anderson, Dominic Brown, Scobey and Hults were sixth in the 4x800 relay in 9:26.9.
