Sedalia’s Jonathan Cornell raced to the front in the ASCS Warrior Region Sprint Cars feature at Double X Speedway on Sunday.
Cornell started in the sixth position, moving up to second place by lap four. On the 12th lap, leader Josh Fisher’s car took some damage and Cornell found himself in the lead on the restart and he held on to that position the rest of the way.
Sedalia’s TJ Muths was fifth in the B-Feature.
Pilot Grove’s Travis Arnold was 10th in the 600cc Micro Sprints.
In the Hobby Stocks, Eddie Lavery III of Tipton took second. Sedalia’s Will Register was third with Kevin Prall fourth. Windsor’s Chuck Coffey was fifth. Tipton’s Bryan Alumbaugh was seventh with Sedalia’s Katie Goodson eighth. Windsor’s Roger Deatherage took ninth.
At Central Missouri Speedway Saturday, Sedalia’s Terry Schultz was second in the USRA Modifieds feature, finishing behind Jim Moody. Sedalia’s Justin Moon was 14th with Steve Twenter 17th and Chris Moon 19th.
In the Street Stocks, Windsor’s Jay Prevete was second. Concordia’s Jeremiah Wilson took fifth with Knob Noster’s Troy Turley sixth, Concordia’s Brian Inlow 10th, Otterville’s Clayton Campbell 11th and Knob Noster’s Josh Guy 12th.
Otterville’s Chad Staus was third in the B-Modifieds. La Monte’s Cody Frazon was sixth and Sedalia natives Richard Brainard and Ernie Walker were eighth and 12th.
