Woman injured passing truck


A Warsaw woman was injured in a collision at 3:48 p.m. Monday in Pettis County.


Monica L. Fox, 36, was northbound on U.S. Highway 65 near Flat Creek Road when she attempted to overtake a Mack Truck driven by David B. Newland, 43, of Green Ridge, struck the truck and ran off the roadway, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.


Fox was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries. Reports indicate she was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.


Ionia man seriously injured


An Ionia man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:40 a.m. Sunday in Pettis County.


Dean L. Rupe, 57, was northbound on state Route E, south of Morgan Road, when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck a mailbox, continued down a ditch and struck an embankment and a culvert. It began to overturn, striking two fences on two different properties simultaneously, then continued to overturn before coming to rest in a field, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.


Rupe was taken to Centerpoint Hospital with serious injuries. Reports indicate he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
