Karchner takes over Presbyterian churches

The Rev. Roberta Karchner, Presbyterian pastor and author of “Growing Wings, Lessons for Earthbound Christians,” was installed on Sunday as pastor at Range Line Presbyterian Church, Longwood Presbyterian Church and Otterville Presbyterian Church.

She lives in Sedalia with her husband, Gary, and is a second-career pastor. She left her career as a writer at the age of 50 to serve God. After she graduated from San Francisco Theological Seminary, she served at a small church in Lakin, Kan., for six years.

She will be a part of the Missouri Union Presbytery as she serves here. She has a daughter and a granddaughter who live in Fort Drum, N.Y.
