Warsaw teachers will get raises next year.
The Warsaw R-IX School District Board of Education voted unanimously to include staff raises in the budget during a special meeting Monday, but the district will now spend about $622,000 more than it takes in during the fiscal year starting Tuesday.
Superintendent Brett Reese said he will try to trim money from other parts of the $11.7 million budget.
“I always refer to the budget as a living document, so they will fluctuate throughout the course of the year,” he said.
The 15-minute meeting was held in the library of Warsaw High School. The standing-room-only audience consisted primarily of faculty and staff.
