Fatal shooting ruled an accident

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Investigators ruled as accidental the death of the Deepwater woman who was shot in the chest by her husband, according to the Henry County’s Sheriff’s Department.

Patsy D. Long, 34, was fatally shot by her husband Ronald Long outside their home just after 6 p.m. March 22, while she was assisting him with the installation of a satellite television system, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The Henry County Prosecutor’s Office is not expected to press charges.

“We have not received a request to review that case from the sheriff’s office,” Prosecuting Attorney Richard Shields said. “We don’t anticipate that the sheriff’s office will (make the request).”
