VERSAILLES — A Kansas City, Kan., man has been extradited to Morgan County to face sexual misconduct and drug charges.

Edward Lawrentiew, 57, was being held in the Morgan County jail awaiting a court appearance, a jail spokesman said Thursday.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department began an investigation Aug. 12 of reports that a man was photographing naked children and trying to get a 14-year-old girl to come to his home on Lake of the Ozarks.

Officers said that Edward Lawrentiew, 57, had played a video he had made at his home outside Stover showing girls around the ages of 9, 11 and 12 disrobing and swimming naked.

Lawrentiew faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance and sexual misconduct with a child, all felonies, Petty said.
