Calhoun man arrested after Henry County chase
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Authorities arrested a Calhoun man who was wanted in the investigation of a methamphetamine lab after he tried to flee through Henry County on Sunday.
Travis Richey, 26, was wanted in connection to a recent methamphetamine lab investigation near Calhoun.
Henry County sheriff’s Maj. Robert Hills, who spotted Richey at a business in Clinton while he was off-duty, contacted the Clinton Police Department with a vehicle description and location. Richey attempted to elude police when they tried to pull him over, reports stated.
The pursuit continued west on state Route 18, then north on state Route 7 to state Route O and through several gravel roads. The vehicle eventually crashed near the Henry and Johnson county line near Blairstown, and the suspect fled on foot.
A female passenger, who was not injured in the crash, was initially detained but later released.
Officers with the Henry, Johnson and Cass county sheriff’s offices, along with members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, called off the search because they could not locate the suspect and the tracking K-9 could not pick up the trail.
However, officers received a tip that Richey was walking along a roadway in the area of the original search. After returning to the scene, authorities arrested Richey.
Richey is being held in the Henry County Detention Center as police pursue charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture and resisting arrest by flight, Henry County deputies reported.
