Jacob A. Mitchell, 21, and a passenger, Michael R. Culbertson, 24, were taken by helicopter to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.
Mitchell was in serious condition and Culbertson was in good condition Saturday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
The accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. as Mitchell was westbound on SW 825th Road just east of state Route 131 near Holden. Mitchell’s vehicle drove off the left side of the road, hit an embankment and overturned several times before stopping on the vehicle’s top, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
A second occupant, Tyler M. Jennings, 21, of Holden, refused treatment at the scene.
