Woman killed in head-on crash
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A Centerview woman was killed in a head-on collision in Johnson County on Friday.
Genevieve Bagnell, 69, was taken by helicopter to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City. Bagnell was pronounced dead at 9:06 p.m. at the hospital.
Jennifer R. Ellis, 24, of Sedalia, was taken by ambulance to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence with minor injuries.
The accident occurred at 4:10 p.m. as Ellis was northbound on NW 501st Road just north of NE 200th Road near Centerview.
Ellis’ vehicle hit Bagnell’s southbound vehicle head-on, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Bagnell was not wearing a seat belt, the report states.
The investigation continues and charges are pending.
