Man arrested after allegedly firing weapon while chasing vehicle
An 18-year-old Versailles man was arrested Sunday after allegedly chasing and firing several rounds at a vehicle, causing it to crash, according to Morgan County Sheriff Jim Petty.
Andrew Glenn was charged with first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He was released from custody after posting bond.
Morgan County deputies responded to a traffic accident on Golden Beach Road in Barnett in the early morning hours Sunday. Investigators discovered a Jeep Grand Cherokee ran into a ditch and overturned after being chased by a man with a firearm.
The occupants of the Jeep told deputies they were at a party earlier in the evening, when a man began brandishing a firearm. When they left the party, the man started chasing them in his vehicle and fired several shots at the Jeep, Petty said.
No one was injured as a result of the shooting, but one girl suffered moderate injuries in the accident, the sheriff’s office reported.
Investigators recovered a .410 shotgun, which they believe was used in the shooting, while executing a warrant Sunday. Glenn was arrested shortly after incident.
