Henry County sheriff: Store intruders in Blairstown shot at by security guards
Three intruders on Monday broke out the front glass and entered Wall’s General Store in Blairstown, drawing fire from security guards before escaping empty-handed, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Henry County Sheriff’s Sgt. Tony Helms responded to the general store just after 1:20 a.m. Monday on a burglary report. The caller told deputies security guards had fired shots at three intruders after they forced entry into the store.
Investigators believe the suspects fled the store, heading north in a pickup truck.
Henry County Sheriff J. Kent Oberkrom said officers from Johnson and Cass County sheriff’s offices assisted in searching for the suspects. They did not discover any items missing from the store.
Oberkrom did not know whether any of the suspected burglars were wounded in the altercation.
