Warsaw man dies after suffering medical condition while driving

A Warsaw man died Wednesday morning after suffering a medical condition and driving off the road on state Route BB in Benton County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Delwin P. Johnson, 73, was pronounced dead at about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the scene of the accident, troopers reported. Margaret L. Johnson, 64, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for the treatment of moderate injuries.

At about 10 a.m. Wednesday, Delwin Johnson was driving west on state Route BB, less than half a mile east of Fir Drive, when he suffered a medical episode that caused him to drive off the left side of the road. His vehicle struck a ditch and concrete debris before coming to a rest on its wheels.

The death was reported as a non-traffic fatality, according to Highway Patrol reports.
