A Holden man was injured in a vehicle accident Wednesday after the brakes of his vehicle failed to work.

Grady S. Hibbs, 74, was taken by ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries.

The accident occurred at 12:18 p.m. as Hibbs was traveling on U.S. Highway 50 in Johnson County.

The brakes of Hibbs’ vehicle failed and the vehicle hit a tree, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
