SFCC to host financial aid workshops
State Fair Community College’s financial aid office will sponsor four “Complete Your FAFSA” open workshops for students and parents.
FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Workshops will be held at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 25, March 11 and March 25 in Room 710 on the lower level of the Hopkins Student Services Center on the Sedalia campus. An additional workshop will be held at 9 a.m. April 10. Workshops are free and open to the public.
According to a SFCC news release, the financial aid staff will be on hand to help prospective and current students and their parents complete their federal financial aid applications online. Students and parents should apply for a U.S. Department of Education personal identification number at least one week prior to attending a workshop. The Web address to get a federal student aid PIN is www.pin.ed.gov.
Attendees should bring their PINs and 2009 federal income tax forms or a completed 2010-2011 FAFSA on the Web worksheet.
