A Clinton man was taken by helicopter to a hospital after struck a utility box and tree, according to Missouri Highway Patrol reports.

Harold D. Tootle, 60, was taken to Saint Luke’s Hospital after the single-vehicle accident about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The accident happened when Tootle’s southbound vehicle went off Missouri 7, south of County Road SE 170 and east of Clinton. The vehicle struck a utility box, went into a field and struck a tree, troopers reported.
