Two hurt in Johnson County accident
Two men were injured in a Johnson County accident Thursday, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Jon M. Klement, 67, of Sedalia, was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. Klement was in good condition Thursday afternoon, said a hospital spokeswoman.
Marshall P. Carton Jr., 30, of Holden, was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs. His condition was not immediately available.
The crash occurred at 4:50 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 and County Road NW 1601. Klement was westbound in the passing lane of U.S. Highway 50 and turned right onto the County Road NW 1601 in front of Carton. Carton tried to brake but collided with Klement, according to State Highway Patrol reports.
Klement was not wearing a seat belt, reports stated.
