A Green Ridge man was injured Tuesday morning when he struck a pickup truck near Whiteman Air Force Base and was thrown from his motorcycle, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Roy A. Hoard, 44, was airlifted to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City after the accident at about 7:30 a.m. His condition was not immediately available Tuesday.

Hoard was westbound on state Route 23 about a half mile east of County Road 275 when Bradley J. Wilson, of Paola, Kan., pulled into his path to make a left turn, troopers reported. Hoard drove into Wilson’s truck and was ejected from his motorcycle, reports stated.

Charges are pending in an ongoing investigation, the Highway Patrol reported.
