A Sedalia man was hurt after his rear vehicle tire blew out on U.S. 50, according to Missouri Highway Patrol reports.

Jerry Bass, 59, was taken by ambulance to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence.

The accident happened as Bass was eastbound on U.S. 50 less than a mile east of Northwest 251 in Johnson County. The vehicle’s rear tire blew out, causing Bass to drive off the road. The vehicle overturned, troopers reported.
