At least 100 people turned out Monday for a free public health fair hosted by State Fair Community College nursing department.
About 23 students, all slated to graduate in May, picked topics ranging from smoking cessation and exercise to teen pregnancy and methamphetamine addiction. Erin Wilson, the Level 2 nursing coordinator at SFCC, told the Democrat that students began researching their topics in January, pulling from a list of public health issues raised by Healthy People 2020, a set of 10-year national health initiatives established at the federal level.
