A Warrensburg man was killed when his car struck the rear of a trailer parked partially in the highway, according to state trooper reports.

Jesse L. Lackey, 26, died following the crash at 3:20 p.m. Monday in Johnson County.

The accident happened when Lackey was eastbound on state Route CC, less than a mile east of state Route KK and southwest of Concordia. A tractor trailer owned by James Storck, of Concordia, was parked partially in the road to load corn because it was too wet to drive the truck into the field, said Trooper Russ Shaul.

The tractor trailer was visible from a distance and had its flashers on, Shaul said. Troopers were unsure who parked the tractor trailer. A westbound car prevented Lackey from driving around the trailer, and he was unable to stop before crashing into it.
