A Green Ridge teen was hurt in an accident Tuesday morning when she swerved off the road to avoid an oncoming vehicle, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Haley D. Davis, 16, was not taken to a hospital following the wreck, but told troopers she may eventually seek medical treatment for minor injuries.

The accident happened about 7 a.m., as Davis was driving north on state Route E during a period of heavy rain. When she was about a quarter of a mile south of Mather Road, an unknown vehicle traveling south entered her lane.

Davis drove off the right side of the road to avoid the oncoming vehicle, struck a culvert and her vehicle overturned in a ditch, reports stated.
The southbound vehicle did not stop and the driver has not been identified, the Highway Patrol reported.
