Water board to discuss water line extension

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Special meeting set for Monday

The Sedalia Board of Public Works has scheduled a special meeting to continue discussion about a request to extend water lines in Cambridge Estates.

The meeting is set to start at 8:30 a.m. Monday in City Hall, 200 S. Osage Ave.

Developer Nolan Sparks requested the department extend the city water main in Cambridge Estates, between West 32nd Street and Green Ridge Road.

Traditionally, the Water Department has paid the difference to increase the size of water mains in conjunction with private developments, but the developer has paid the cost to extend the lines.

Sparks said the extension would benefit the community, and not just his development. Board members requested cost estimates and measurements before making a decision.
