A record 430 women from Sedalia and surrounding communities donned their best red outfits and gathered at Foundry 324 in downtown Sedalia last February to support the Bothwell Foundation’s annual Wear Red for Women luncheon and auction. The annual event raises funds to place life-saving automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in places where people work, learn, play or pray in Sedalia and Pettis County. more

October was the start of a new partnership between Bothwell Regional Health Center and Kansas City Urology Care (KCUC). This partnership allows Bothwell to offer additional urological services provided by KCUC physicians in the hospital and clinic that will mean faster care for area patients. more

MO HealthNet is Missouri’s Medicaid program that helps people with limited income and resources with their health care costs. During COVID-19, continuous reenrollment for Medicaid was implemented, meaning people who qualified for health care coverage through MO HealthNet kept their coverage for the past three years without having to renew annually. more

The two resident physicians who joined Bothwell Regional Health Center last July are entering the second year of their three-year training through the Bothwell-University of Missouri Rural Family Medicine Residency. In the past year, Dr. Brittany Pendergraft and Dr. Levi Harris have had the opportunity to expand their education in a rural medicine setting while also providing care for patients alongside mentoring physicians in the Bothwell health system. more

Last November, life took on new meaning for Knob Noster resident Kevin Butler. Though he did not have a history of health complications, Butler experienced at age 62 a sudden heart attack and underwent quadruple bypass surgery. more

RLS affects more than 10% of adults and 2-4% of children, yet few people come in complaining about their legs. Orville “Moose” Moellman, 67, lives in Cole Camp and went to the Bothwell Walk In Clinic last July with what he thought was an infected callus on the ball of his foot. After an initial examination from a nurse, he was directed to go straight to the Bothwell Wound Healing Center for further evaluation. more

The Bothwell Auxiliary began in 1971 by a group of determined and tenacious women, many of them wives of doctors at the hospital. The goal then was to be a light for patients, visitors and staff at Bothwell. more

Every 28 days, Robbin McDonough makes the trek to the Bothwell Infusion & Procedure Center on the second floor of the hospital. There she receives medication through infusion therapy that helps ease her rheumatoid arthritis or RA symptoms. more

Beginning this month, Dr. Lara Briseño Kenney is taking on a larger role at Bothwell Susan O’Brien Fischer Cancer Center. She is board-certified in Hematology, Oncology, Internal Medicine and Palliative Care. more

Thanks to funding from the Bothwell Foundation, Bothwell Regional Health Center’s hospital CT scanner has been replaced, and the Oncology Department scanner in the Susan O’Brien Fischer Cancer Center has been upgraded. The improvements provide faster and more accurate information for diagnosing and treating patients’ illnesses and injuries. more
