Satnan: Memories of a good boy who had a good run

I didn’t want to like him. I ended up loving him. And now I will miss him.

This week we had to put down our 18-year-old dog, Henry. His sight and hearing had failed and he had become incontinent. When we took him outside, he couldn’t find his way back to the door and inside the house, he continually walked into walls and furniture. And because he didn’t know where he was, when we reached out to pet him, he would flinch away from us. Henry had led a good life for a good many years, but his joy was gone. His time, unfortunately, had come.
