Letter: La Strada does nice job explaining voter registration

Posted: Tuesday, October 16, 2012 12:01 am

Hats off to Nick La Strada, Pettis County clerk (and person in charge of voting) for his excellent presentation about voting registration requirements and current issues for the upcoming November election at the recent meeting of Diversified Community Outreach at the True Vine Church of God in Christ.

Though the attendance was light, and Nick is a family man, he devoted an evening to explain voting procedures. In addition, assurances were given by him that polling places were to be courteous and friendly with all persons treated with respect and dignity and “no grumpy judges” taking into consideration the horrendous experiences of blacks in the history of voting rights.
