I am Pam Carter, a candidate for City Council in Ward 4. I am a longtime resident of Ward 4, so I understand our unique perspective. I am also a team player. This combination means that I will be an effective voice for Ward 4, while making the best choices for Sedalia as a city and community.
I am an active member of our community. I belong to the Sedalia First Baptist Church and the Whiteman AFB Community Council. I am a member of the Sedalia Middle School Parent Teachers Association and have served on several Sedalia public school support organizations. My community involvement also has included numerous volunteer programs including Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels and Open Door.
I have campaigned on the principles of maintaining a quality community, with quality jobs, supported by responsible, common-sense government. This translates into making the community we live in a place of pride for ourselves and our families. Sedalia is already such a community, and I wish to build on this positive for the future, the future of our children, and their children.
Sedalia is a very caring and close-knit community that provides an excellent quality of life. We have a solid job base, and I will work to retain these jobs we have while adding more quality jobs. I will tirelessly promote this objective by making Sedalia a business-friendly city, working with other organizations seeking jobs that will be here today, as well as tomorrow.
I also know that we must take care of our streets, water, sewer, as well as provide for police and fire protection. These essentials can only be achieved through the efficient budget management of a responsible city government. I will work hard to provide the leadership necessary to achieve this critical goal.
I began my candidacy after serious reflection and with the encouragement of others. I will never forget the trust others have given to me, and I will always strive to achieve the goals pledged to you. Please remember that a vote for Ward 4 City Council candidate Pam Carter on April 6 will be a vote for:
• A quality community
• Quality jobs
• Responsible, common sense government
A special thanks to all who have taken the time to speak with me about their concerns and shared their thoughts as I have walked door-to-door.
Rest assured that I will always be the open person you meet on your doorstep, and I will always strive to make the best decisions for our community.
