Dry weather makes fireworks more risky

Whether driven by July 4 patriotism or just a yearning to blow stuff up, even in tough economic times Missourians seem able to squeeze a sizable collection of fireworks into the family budget each year.

It could be a bunch of bottle rockets, sparklers for the kids or “Uncle Sam’s Answer” — a 16-shot premium collection described on fireworkscity.com as having “bright golden stars, large crackling bouquets and multi-colored bouquets all shot in sequence.” Now that’s a star-spangled spectacle.
