I would like to thank Patsy Wickern for her letter (“Ministers should have defended faith”) concerning pastors stepping forward to defend Christianity. I would also like to thank Doug Kneibert for his letter (“Columnist attacked benefits of faith”).
Bonnie Erbe’s column and the responses to it reminded me of an incident during the recent election season. I was running the GOP headquarters during that time. One day a local pastor came in visibly upset because someone had placed pro-life literature on the cars in his church’s parking lot. I suppose he thought that made the local Republican Party the “guilty” party. I explained to him that the Pettis County Republican Party had nothing to do with the literature drop in his parking lot.
